Real De Catorce, as viewed from the ghost town on top of the mountain

The Town of Real de Catorce is at an altitude of more than 9,000 feet. It is situated in the mountain range of Catorce, one of the highest plateaus in Mexico, with summits that exceed 10,000 feet of altitude. Silence, fresh air, and spectacular vistas are some of the features visitors can enjoy if they venture to walk the many paths of this sacred land in the heart of Mexico.

Jonathan and "Marano" in the ghost town above Real De Catorce
Here I am aside my trusty steed "Marano". Sounds fearsom doesn't it? Well, names can be deceiving. Marano is just another way to say "PIG". No matter though, Pig or not,  he carried me up the mountain and into the ghost town that was once the entrance to the silver mine at Real.
