Fort Mountain

Fort Mountain derives it's name from a 850+ foot long stone wall that lines the summit of the mountain. The origins of this wall have been credited to everyone from "Moon-Eyed" Indians to Prince Madoc. Of the major myths surrounding the mountain, I believe in the more traditional Native American origin.

I think that Ft. Mountain is a very large effigy mound of the Cherokee mythic creature, Uktena.
